The Meetings

You do not need to be a formal member to attend any of our main meetings; just pay £5 on the door for those meetings you attend, and that’s it!  Tea and coffee are available before and during our meetings, and cooked ‘breakfast snacks’ are available at extra charge if you want them.

Meetings start at 07.00 and run until 09.00 at the latest.  The Newark Advertiser is always on sale, and members are able to display leaflets or announcements on a designated table.  If you need to stay on to meet a colleague or chat to someone you’ve just met, that’s invariably OK!

We normally get around 20 new members at each meeting, and one of our committee members will ensure you know what is happening and introduce you if you are feeling a bit lost!

Meeting format

Our meetings have a standard format – Welcome from our sponsor, and then general introductions – the microphone is passed around and everyone  says their name, and their company name. We usually have reports from our sub-groups, followed by a presentation of interest – and then go to our 10-minute speed networking.  Each table has ten people, and each member has one minute to do an ‘elevator pitch’ – sell themselves or their product to everyone else on the table.  Give out business cards while you are doing this.  We then have a 10-minute coffee break – great to have the chance to follow up with anyone you have just met.  We then have a final presentation, and close just before 9am.

Sponsorship

Each meeting is sponsored at a cost (currently £175); for this, the sponsor gets:

  • A five-minute talk at the outset of the meeting;
  • The right to display material on each table;
  • Their company logo on display throughout the meetings
  • An article about their organisation on the Club pages of the Newark Advertiser, the following week
  • A prominent ‘sponsored by’ flash on our website, and on the meeting agenda.

Join us

We recommend formal membership and registration through our website, as this ensures you are always reminded of our meeting dates.  In addition, your details are (should you agree) available to all visitors for your commercial benefit, and you will receive ‘briefing notes’ following each of our meetings – so if you couldn’t attend, or didn’t have time to take notes, you still have all of the contacts and  information!

To register, please complete our membership form; acceptance is moderated by a subset of our committee, but you should hear if your application was successful within 48 hours of application.  If you have any queries, or wish to chase an application, please contact our secretary here.
